What happens after you call admissions
The admissions process at RVK Treatment is designed to move quickly without sacrificing thoroughness. When you call, a care guide will conduct an initial assessment—understanding your situation, substance history, and any urgent safety concerns. We will verify your insurance benefits and explain coverage within the same call whenever possible. Our goal is to give you clarity on next steps before you hang up.
If same-day or next-day admission is appropriate, we will coordinate logistics: which campus, what to bring, and how to get there. We can arrange transportation when needed and communicate with family members you designate. For clients stepping down from a higher level of care, we coordinate with your current provider to ensure a warm handoff. Continuity of care is non-negotiable—we do not want gaps between levels.
Your first day on campus includes intake, medical assessment, and orientation to the program. You will meet your care team and begin the clinical work that will carry you through treatment. We know that the decision to enter treatment is courageous. Our team is here to make the path as clear and supported as possible from the moment you call.
What to bring and how to prepare
Entering treatment is a significant step, and being prepared can ease the transition. We recommend bringing seven to fourteen days of comfortable clothing, personal toiletries without alcohol-based ingredients, any prescription medications in their original labeled bottles, a government-issued ID, your insurance card, and a list of emergency contacts. Leave behind weapons, alcohol, drugs, excessive cash, and expensive personal items. Each campus provides a detailed packing list upon admission confirmation.
If you are arranging admission for a loved one, our family services team can guide you through what to expect during the first seventy-two hours. We encourage families to participate in a brief orientation call before arrival, during which we explain campus policies, communication protocols, and the schedule for the first week. Families are essential partners in recovery, and early engagement sets the tone for successful treatment outcomes.
For clients traveling from out of state, we coordinate airport pickups and campus transfers. Many of our clients come from across the country because they want a fresh environment away from familiar triggers. Our admissions coordinators handle travel logistics so the client can focus entirely on preparing mentally and emotionally for the work ahead.

We work with most major insurance plans
Our admissions coordinators will verify your benefits and explain any out-of-pocket costs before you commit to treatment. No surprises, no pressure. We accept Medicare, Medicaid, TriCare, most private insurance plans, employer-sponsored coverage, and self-pay arrangements. If your plan is not listed, call us anyway—we can often find a pathway to coverage.
